The Balconies

What a tremendous band! Their front-woman Jackie is unquestionably a rock star, and the rhythm section of Liam and Steve is super tight. These three are all graduates of the music program at Ottawa U, and worked their asses off to bring out over 80 people to Zaphod's on a Thursday night. So, to everyone who says Ottawa is a no fun city, fuck you. Ottawa is a super fun city, and is sure to end up being one of the most fun stops on our tour.

It was really nice to play through a proper PA, and our soundman Paul was very helpful and did an excellent job with the mix.

Opening band the Weathermakers also had some good things going. We're very grateful to them for taking the bullet an opening the night at 8PM.

We stayed at our friend Chris' house here in Ottawa last night, and for some reason everyone got really drunk. There were some funny moments, most specifically when Cameron came downstairs eating a Jamaican beef patty at 2AM, singing "We are Jamaica, we have a bobsled team," over and over, and then subsequently spilling ketchup all over the white t-shirt that I had loaned him.

We are in Hamilton tonight, and it is now 1:25, so it's time to hit the road!
